Haliburton Highland Hospital Services (HHHS)
President and CEO Paul Rosebush was delighted to inform his Board of
Directors at last weeks monthly Board meeting that the organization has
successfully achieved an almost perfect grade from Accreditation Canada
after an arduous and detailed professional evaluation. “We achieved a
very high 95 percent rating of all criteria, which is a great tribute to
all our staff, health professionals, and management,” said Rosebush.
“This means we meet or exceed a very
demanding national standard of excellence.”
Accreditation Canada is a not-for-profit,
independent organization accredited by the International Society for
Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), and says it, “provides national and
international health care organizations with an external peer review
process to assess and improve the services they provide to their
patients and clients based on standards of excellence. Accreditation
Canada’s programs and guidance have helped organizations promote quality
health care for over 50 years.”
The Board formally thanked Rosebush and
his staff for their excellent work. Rosebush also mentioned that the
Haliburton and Minden hospitals had recently boasted a zero rate for
hospital-based infections, which is another remarkable statistic. He
also reported that the H1N1 Swine Flu alert level had been reduced, and
added that the recent concern had been a good opportunity for the HHHS
to test their pandemic planning protocols.
