Volunteers Making The Difference

Volunteers are special people, giving of their time and expertise.  We are very fortunate to have so many…in fact, so many we could not list their names.

However, they accomplish everything from supporting Auxiliary activities, attending meetings, performing office duties, assisting with long term care and acute care areas, and participating in special events such as Golf Day, the Gala, and the Christmas Open House.  Thank you!

Stuart Smith, FAHP, Chair, Association of Health Care Philanthropy Board of Directors, was quoted, “Volunteers are our daily vitamins.”  He feels strongly that an organization should focus on the value of the volunteer.  He sums it up this way:

“Here is the true value of a volunteer:

  • Volunteers help you assess the community’s perception of your

institution.

  • Volunteers will tell your story better than anyone; they will be more

persuasive.

  • Volunteers will get appointments you could not get.

  • Volunteers become more realistic about fund raising

  • Volunteers will make financial contributions

Make no mistake about it; we are all immeasurably better for the contribution of our esteemed volunteers.”

For more information on becoming a volunteer in our facilities, telephone the Foundation office at (705) 457-1580 or (705) 286-1580.

If you are interested in being a volunteer, please call us at 705-457-1580 or 705-286-1580

Samantha and Jasmine, two Haliburton Highlands Secondary School students, come to help out.  Here they were busy putting HHHSF ribbons on our acute care bear, Ting.
